We started out early and packed some food for a lunch with Grandpa. Of course we included some of our cookie masterpieces!
We then went to some friends' and parked on their driveway for the best seats in town to view the parade at Bentwater. We were all pretty darn excited!

The parade was really great!
Afterward we dined on hot dogs and watermelon at Grandpa's and cooled off in the splash pool.
A lot of people threw candy during the parade, and we made out like bandits!
We got a tee time in the afternoon and Jan played a few holes of golf with one of my clients and her husband- they are amazing coaches! The boys and I rode along in the golf cart and although it was brutally hot we really enjoyed ourselves! When we finally got home everyone was exhausted.
Because of our dire lack of rain there were little if any fireworks this year, but all in all it was still a wonderful 4th of July.
